CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (October 7, 2008) – The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle (www.thecot.org) will open its 2008-2009 concert season on Sunday, October 12. The 3 p.m. performance will be held at the Carolina Theatre in Durham and highlight 20th century Italian music.
Concert performances include: Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari’s “Suite Concertino for Bassoon, Strings and two Horns,” Ferruccio Busoni’s “Divertimento for Flute and Orchestra,” Alfredo Casella’s “Serenata for Small Orchestra,” Arrigo Pedrollo’s “Concertino for Oboe and String Orchestra” and Nino Rota’s “Concerto for Strings.”
“The excitement surrounding the new season is fantastic,” says Lorenzo Muti, artistic director and conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. “What better way to begin our season than with a blend of Italian compositions.”
